For the past three years Lily Canter has managed, co-ordinated and promoted independent festival Film Northants single handedly. The event is a community short film competition open to anyone living, working or studying in Northamptonshire. Finalists are drawn up by a panel of judges and the public vote for their favourite film. All the shortlisted films are screened at a red carpet awards ceremony a Cineworld, Northampton (previously screened at Vue, Sol Central) in front of an audience of invited guests from the film and creative industries. This is currently the festival chair and oversees a management committee of 8 volunteers.
